How the Bible tells us to use science to live forever on Earth

Life is Good

Have you ever had one of those mornings where you just love being alive? The kind of morning where the air is crisp and clean, and when you walk outside and look out on a blue and cloudless sky, the world seems so perfect. The sounds of birdsong fall upon our ears like a gift from God. The sound of children playing sounds like music. 

Life is so precious to us at these times. We drink it all in through our senses like a fine wine, this rich and wonderful world. It’s good to be alive, isn’t it?

We Are Told To Accept Death By Our Societal Institutions

But life has to end. Doesn’t it? Isn’t that what society tells us? That death is proper and natural? Turn on your TV set. Listen to it. It won’t be long until you hear a reference to death. Maybe you will hear someone refer to a departed relative as looking down on us from heaven. It is comforting to think of our departed loved ones in such a way. And although we all feel an aching void inside us when we think about the prospect of death, mainstream society encourages us to accept death. Popular culture seems to want us to see death as something that is natural and something that we cannot fight against.

God Does Not Want Us To Accept Death

But when it comes to the idea of accepting death, the Bible does not encourage us to accept death. Quite the opposite, in fact. The Bible itself does not see death as something to be meekly accepted. Instead, the Bible encourages us to aggressively seek out immortality right here on earth.  In fact, the Bible — which is the voice of God speaking to us –- commands us to take the necessary actions for living forever right here on earth. The Bible gives us a set of  instructions on how we can have immortal life right here on earth.

God Has A Plan For Us To Live Forever

God’s plan for us to live forever here on Earth is perhaps best shown to us by how the Bible explains to us God’s ultimate goal for us. And just what is God’s Big Plan, as expressed in the Bible?

If you look at 1 Corinthians, chapter 15 verses 25-26 (from the World English Bible), it says as follows:

He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death.

The “He” in this verse is referring to Jesus, referring to the Second Coming of Christ, when he returns again to Earth.  So we see that the last enemy, the toughest enemy to defeat, is Death. We see here that God’s plan is to rid mankind of death.  But God will not accomplish that goal until all other enemies have been defeated. Everything leads up to that final battle between God and Death. Beating Death is the ultimate goal.

As further evidence of this plan, let’s turn to Isaiah chapter 25 verse 8 in the English Standard Version Bible:

He [referring again to Jesus here] will swallow up death forever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces…

So, no more tears and no more death. That is in our future, if we do as God wants us to do. Sounds like a good plan.

The Bible Gives Us Instructions On How To Live Forever

Does God tell us how to live forever? Let’s take a look at John chapter 8 verse 51 (from the World English Bible):

…if a person keeps my word, he will never see death….

Now, this verse is one of the many verses in the bible that show that God knows you are thinking about how to beat death. In this verse, God is talking to those readers who want to beat death, who want to live forever. God knows we don’t want to die. And through the Bible God is giving us directions, instructions on how to live forever. What instructions? Keep his word. That is what he wants us to do. The word “keep” in the verse above means “to guard”or to “watch over”, which is based on the Greek noun “teros,” meaning “guard.” Teros is the primary Greek root word from the original biblical text of John 8 51 (see Strong’s Concordance).

As noted above, if you go to the website biblehub.com for John chapter 8 verse 51, and click on “Greek” near the top, you will see the original Greek translation of this verse. It reads as follows: “I say to you, if anyone my word keeps, death never not shall he see, to the age.” The word “keeps” here is based on the Greek word tērēsē — which is shown on the left hand side of that page (see http://biblehub.com/text/john/8-51.htm ). If you place your mouse over the word tērēsē, you will see the words “tērēsē: keeps in-tact.” So, the original translation of John 8 51 tells us to keep God’s word intact. Not just follow his word. But to keep his word intact. All in one piece. Together. Preserve it. Watch over it. Guard it. Keep his word intact inside your brain for all time.

Another verse which shows that God knows what we are looking for, which is a way to beat death, is 1 John chapter 2 verse 17 from the Weymouth New Testament:

And the world, with its cravings, is passing away, but he who does God’s will continues for ever.

God Knows That We Want To Live Forever

Here we see that the Bible is talking to those of us who want to continue forever. To never really die, in other words. Or, if we are to die, to rise and live again.

So, from the Bible we see that God knows that death is always on your mind. And his plans include immortality for mankind. And he is talking to us through the Bible, telling us the way to achieve our goal of living forever. All we have to do is follow these commands. The Bible is a set of instructions on how to live forever right here on Earth.

God Understands How Horrible Death Is For Us

And let me tell you something else—God understands how horrible death really is.  See Acts 2 24, from the World English Bible:

…whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.

The agony of death! That’s God talking to us, and he wants us to know that he understands the agony we experience when we think about how death awaits us. We may not feel the sting of death right now, if we are healthy and young, but when the time of death comes upon us, when death draws near, we will feel the agony of death more sharply. And God is telling us here that he understands. If you listen to the television set, to Hollywood, they would have you believe that death is inevitable, something to be accepted. But the Creator of this universe is telling us something different. He is looking for people who want to live forever, and he is speaking to those people, telling them how to achieve that goal.

In the New Living Translation bible version of this same verse (Acts 2 24), the bible uses the phrase “the horrors of death”. (NLT)

So God knows that you think death is horrible, and he agrees with you. Also see Hebrews 2 15, from the NET Bible, which reads as follows:

…and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.

Another version of Romans 7 24, from the International Standard Version bible, says as follows:

Who will rescue me from this body that is infected by death?

Enslaved by death! Infected by death! That is God talking to you through Paul, and he is referring to death as an infection, as slavery. Yet Hollywood tells us death is natural and to be accepted. Our preachers tell us we will go to Heaven when we die. But the Bible portrays death as the horror it really is. Quite a contrast.

So, God understands how horrible death really is, the agony of death, the slavery of death, the infection that is death. God feels your fear of death, and he understands it, and God does not want us to go meekly to the grave. Isn’t that what all these Bible verses quoted above are telling us?  That God does not see death as natural. That God does not want us to accept death meekly and go to the grave? Hollywood and the media and your friendly neighborhood preacher all tell us otherwise–that death is natural and that we should accept it and that Heaven awaits us. Who is right?

Do you remember–back when you were a young child–when you first began to realize that people die and that you were also going to die?  God understands that empty feeling, that deep sense of loss that you felt when you first realized that you were going to die, that all people die, that you were going to lose all this, this wonderful world around you. God sees that empty aching spot inside all of us, the emptiness we try to hide from ourselves, the emptiness that is our awareness of death.  However, the Bible shows us that God wants to end death forever for all of us. There is hope.

And isn’t it true—are we not all our lives held in slavery by our fear of death? Death hangs over all our heads, ever since that first day as a child when we learned that people all die.

We Can Defeat Death

From Romans 7 24 (New International Version), Paul speaks to us, and he says to us:

Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?

We have all secretly wished for that ourselves, haven’t we? Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? I don’t want to die…but my body, unfortunately, is destined for death. Or at least that is the way it has been for all mankind up to this point in time. But can we change that?

All of us have read various news media articles about scientific studies that speculate on possible cures for old age and cancer, heart disease, and just death in general.  We have all seen reports on various scientific studies in the area of aging and so forth, which speculate on how science might be used to defeat aging and death someday. We have all seen articles on how we might be able to upload our minds into computers someday and thus live forever. And of course there are the cryonicists, who practice the science of cryonics, a form of brain preservation, which involves filling the brain of the recently deceased with sophisticated anti-freeze solutions, and then storing the body or head of that person in liquid nitrogen so that decades or centuries from now, advanced science might revive them.

When we read these articles, we all ask ourselves, “When will it be possible for science to stop death? Will science rescue me in time from this body subject to death? Or will I also die like every other human?”

And God might hear you and answer your question this way: ”Rescue yourself.”  Remember, God helps those who help themselves, those who help themselves through their own good works and deeds.

God Wants Us To Live Forever Right Here On Earth

And where does God want us to spend eternity as immortal beings? In heaven? To answer that question, let’s look at Luke Chapter 18 verse 30 from the World English Bible. It says that:

who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.

The world to come–that is where we will live forever. That is where we will get eternal life—in the world to come, and not in heaven. Not the present world. The world to come.  The future world. Do you know of anyone who is immortal in this present-day world? No, the world to come is where we will have immortality. Most likely the distant future. But we are not there yet.

And if we look at Mark 10 30 (Webster’s Bible Translation), it tells us that:

in the world to come  [the faithful shall receive] eternal life.

Do these Bible verses say anything about living forever in heaven? No. It will be Earth for us. This planet is our home. That is what God is telling us. But eternal life is only for the faithful. But what exactly does that mean? We shall delve into that later in this document.

Jesus Christ Said That No One From Earth Has Ever Gone Into Heaven

Jesus Christ said in John 3 13 (New International Version) that:

No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven–the Son of Man.

So here Jesus is speaking at a point in time after Moses, David, Aaron and many other Hebrews have already lived and died. And yet Jesus is saying that no one from Earth has even gone to heaven (except Jesus himself). Moses could not get into heaven, but yet Hollywood wants you think that you can get into Heaven. Who is right–Hollywood or the Bible?

And who else tells you are going to Heaven if you are a good person? Your friendly neighborhood preacher, that’s who.  Every Sunday morning, hundreds of preachers get up on a pulpit and tell us about how we can go to Heaven. But that is not what the Bible says, is it? Why are our churches, Hollywood and our other American institutions telling us that we will go to Heaven when we die?

God Will Use Mankind To Defeat Death

So the Bible tells us that God’s ultimate goal is to defeat death. But how is God going to defeat death? What are his tools for defeating death?  Is it possible that we, mankind, are going to defeat death for God?

The Bible does tell us that we have been designed to do great works for God. In 2 Timothy 3 17 (New Living Translation), it says:

God uses it [meaning scripture] to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. (NLT)

Every good work! Think about that. If there is a good work that God wants done, then he has prepared us to perform that good work for him. And since defeating death is God’s ultimate goal (see 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 25-26), wouldn’t it make sense that he has prepared us to do that good work for him, that he has prepared and equipped us to do that ultimate good work–to defeat death?

And from Ephesians 2 10 (New Living Translation), we see the following:

…we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (NLT)

The Bible is telling us that we need to do these good things for God. Whatever “good things” that God has planned, he is looking to us to do them for him. Surely defeating death is one of the good things he wants us to do? After all, 1 Corinthians 15 25-26 (World English Bible) tells us this:

[Jesus] must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death.

So if defeating death is the ultimate goal for God, and if mankind is equipped to do all of his good works, then defeating death must surely be something we need to do for God, and for ourselves.

Mankind Will Be Able To Defeat Death For God

Defeating death is a tall order. Can we do that for God? Ephesians 3 20 (New Living Translation) tells us this:

God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (NLT)

His mighty power at work within us! Think about that. Do we have any mighty powers? Enough to defeat death? More about that later.

Defeating death might seem beyond the capabilities of mankind, but God seems to have faith in us. Will we have what it takes to defeat death for God?

Philippians 2 13 (New Living Translation) says this:

God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. (NLT)

So the Bible is telling us that God works through us.  We are his mighty power. And we are here to do and accomplish the things he wants to do. And what does God want to do? Well, his ultimate goal is to defeat death and provide a future earth where there will be no tears.

Mankind Will Defeat Death For God By Using Science

But I don’t have the power to make us immortal. Do you?

Well, maybe we do? Does the Bible talk about the powers that God gave us to accomplish the things he wants done?  What special qualities or talents of mankind might God find so useful that he can use them to accomplish what pleases him–to defeat Death for him?

Does the Bible refer to or mention any special skills or talents that we have or does the bible encourage certain ways of thinking?

Reason, Logic and Science Are Mankind’s Tools To Defeat Death For God

Let’s take a look at Isaiah 1 18 (King James Bible):

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD

Reason! Now that is a word for you! Reason! The mighty power of reasoning. What has reason done for mankind? Look at all the products of science and technology that surround us today–medicine, cars, bridges, highways, skyscrapers, computers, the internet. All these are the product of reason.Could it be that science and the power of logical reasoning is the tool God gave us that can be used to defeat Death?  

Reason, Logic and Science Are Mentioned In The Bible

The question then arises as to how many times the Bible mentions the power of reasoning and scientific thinking. Look at Luke 24 15 (Webster’s Bible Translation), which says:

And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

So Jesus himself saw the power of reasoning. It attracted him. An alternate version of Luke 24 15 from the International Standard Version reads as follows:

While they were discussing and analyzing what had happened, Jesus himself approached and began to walk with them…

And Job 32 11 (World English Bible) reads as follows:

Behold, I waited for your words, and I listened for your reasoning, while you searched out what to say.

And then we have Isaiah 41 21, from the English Standard Version Bible, which says:

Set forth your case, says the LORD; bring your proofs, says the King of Jacob.

Proofs, which are a foundation of mathematics. Yet another indication that the Bible sees reason, logic and rationality as an important tool for us to use.

What other verses in the bible are along these same lines?

See now Proverbs 18 15 from the World English Bible:

The heart of the discerning gets knowledge. The ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

And our modern society is indeed built on knowledge. Vast libraries dot our cities and campuses.  And James 5 3 of the Weymouth New Testament says that:

your gold and your silver have become covered with rust, and the rust on them will give evidence against you….

Acts 19 8 from the World English Bible says that

He [Paul] entered into the synagogue, and spoke boldly for a period of three months, reasoning and persuading about the things concerning the Kingdom of God.

1 Thessalonians 5 21 of the King James Bible tells us to

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” An alternate version of that verse from the Bible in Basic English tells us “Let all things be tested; keep to what is good.

So what are we talking about here?  Reasoning. Evidence. Testing. Proving. Analyzing. Gaining knowledge. And the Bible has many more verses concerning reason, logic and rational thinking. In fact, many Biblical verses consist of God showing us how to think logically and rationally, and how to put the power of science and scientific thinking to use in order to help make our lives better and longer.

God Used The Bible To Show Man How To Use Science, Reason And Logic

What is The Scientific Method? The definition given in Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method) is as follows:

The scientific method is a body of techniques for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge.

To be termed scientific, a method of inquiry is commonly based on empirical or measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning. The Oxford Dictionaries Online define the scientific method as “a method or procedure that has characterized natural science since the 17th century, consisting in systematic observation, measurement, and experiment, and the formulation, testing, and modification of hypotheses.”

From the Wikipedia entry on Knowledge (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knowledge#Scientific_knowledge), we have this description of scientific knowledge:

“Sir Francis Bacon, “Knowledge is Power”

The development of the scientific method has made a significant contribution to how knowledge of the physical world and its phenomena is acquired.[16] To be termed scientific, a method of inquiry must be based on gathering observable and measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning and experimentation.[17] The scientific method consists of the collection of data through observation and experimentation, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses.[18]”

So measuring the world around us and collecting data are two of the pillars of the scientific method. Does the Bible have examples of measurement and data collection?

God invented the scientific method

The Bible contains extensive examples of how God taught mankind how to think scientifically and how to create and design using the scientific approach, specifically through the use of measurement and data collection.

God invented the scientific method. He invented design, architecture, sanitation, medicine, biological science, engineering, algorithms, the recording of information obtained from observation of the natural world, societal planning and organization, the long-term preservation of information, and many other aspects of modern industrial society.

God speaks to man via the Bible and exemplifies, and God models these scientific ideas for us. Via the Bible, God told us to walk in his ways, and he models the sort of thinking that eventually formed the basis of modern science.

God used the Bible, and, in particular, the Old Testament, to disseminate these ideas to the mankind.  Eventually mankind adopted these ideas and created a civilization that is based on the scientific method, on science, technology, reason, logic, design, architecture, engineering, algorithms, the written recording of the natural world, the long-term preservation of information, societal planning and organization, etc.

By walking in God’s ways (basing society on those ideas I listed above), by using the principles of science, as shown to us in the Bible, mankind can bring about the Resurrection and the Second Coming, and defeat death for God, creating a paradise on Earth via God, and thereby doing God’s will.

One of the cornerstones of science and of the scientific method is the observation and written recording of information, of data. Science cannot exist without data, data observed from the natural world and written down for later use.

One example of how God showed us in the Bible how to record written information is when God told Moses to record certain information about Hebrew tribes. The recording of information, measured data, enumerated data, or quantified information is crucial to use of the scientific method. In the Bible God shows use how to use the scientific method.

The Bible also shows us how God showed man how to objectively and scientifically measure the natural world in order to design and construct buildings, how to bend the natural world to fit our own plans.

Amos chapter 7 verse 7 of the New Living Translation reads as follows:

7 Then he showed me another vision. I saw the Lord standing beside a wall that had been built using a plumb line. He was using a plumb line to see if it was still straight.

8 And the LORD said to me, “Amos, what do you see?”I answered, “A plumb line.” And the Lord replied, “I will test my people with this plumb line. I will no longer ignore all their sins.  (NLT)

Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plumb_bob) describes a plumb line ( aka a  plumb bob) as follows:

a weight, usually with a pointed tip on the bottom, that is suspended from a string and used as a vertical reference line, or plumb-line. It is essentially the vertical equivalent of a “water level”. The instrument has been used since at least the time of ancient Egypt to ensure that constructions are “plumb“, or vertical.

So, here in Amos chapter 7 verse 7, God uses a tool to test the natural world. He is showing us how to measure objects, one of the foundations of science and technology.

The use of the plumb line by God shows us how he uses testing and analysis to make decisions. This is part of the scientific method: you test something, you measure it, and then you use the results to make decisions. Our God is not a God of superstitions, but a God of science and rationality.

From Genesis chapter 6, verses 5-22 of the GOD’S WORD® Translation, we see how God designed Noah’s ark:

5 The LORD saw how evil humans had become on the earth. All day long their deepest thoughts were nothing but evil. 6 The LORD was sorry that he had made humans on the earth, and he was heartbroken. 7 So he said, “I will wipe off the face of the earth these humans that I created. I will wipe out not only humans, but also domestic animals, crawling animals, and birds. I’m sorry that I made them.”

8 But the LORD was pleased with Noah.

….

13 God said to Noah, “I have decided to put an end to all people because the earth is full of their violence. Now I’m going to destroy them along with the earth. 14 Make yourself a ship of cypress wood. Make rooms in the ship and coat it inside and out with tar. 15 This is how you should build it: the ship is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. 16 Make a roof for the ship, and leave an 18-inch-high opening at the top. Put a door in the side of the ship. Build the ship with lower, middle, and upper decks. 17 I’m about to send a flood on the earth to destroy all people under the sky-every living, breathing human. Everything on earth will die. 18 “But I will make my promise to you. You, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives will go into the ship. 19 Bring two of every living creature into the ship in order to keep them alive with you. They must be male and female. 20 Two of every type of bird, every type of domestic animal, and every type of creature that crawls on the ground will come to you to be kept alive. 21 Take every kind of food that can be eaten and store it. It will be food for you and the animals.” 22 Noah did this. He did everything that God had commanded him.

In verses 14 through 18 above, we see how God is a designer. God designs with precise units of measurement. Every aspect of Noah’s Ark was meant to carry out some specific function.

God also designed the Ark of the Covenant using the same precise units of measurement. Yes, that same Ark of the Covenant from the Indiana Jones movie Raiders of the Lost Ark.

The Ark of the Covenant is a gold-covered wooden chest described in the Book of Exodus as containing the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments….

The biblical account relates that, approximately one year after the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt, the Ark was created according to the pattern given to Moses by God when the Israelites were encamped at the foot of biblical Mount Sinai. Thereafter, the gold-plated acacia chest was carried by its staves while en route by the Levites approximately 2,000 cubits (approximately 800 meters or 2,600 feet) in advance of the people when on the march or before the Israelite army, the host of fighting men.[2] When carried, the Ark was always hidden under a large veil made of skins and blue cloth, always carefully concealed, even from the eyes of the priests and the Levites who carried it. God was said to have spoken with Moses “from between the two cherubim” on the Ark’s cover.[3] When at rest the tabernacle was set up and the holy Ark was placed under the veil of the covering the staves of it crossing the middle side bars to hold it up off the ground.

Exodus 25 1-10 of the GOD’S WORD® Translation tells us how God instructed Moses to build the Ark of the Covenant:

1 The LORD said to Moses…Then have them make a holy place for me, and I will live among them….

9 Make the tent and all its furnishings exactly like the plans I am showing you.

10 “Make an ark of acacia wood 45 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 27 inches high.

Exact measurements and plans–that is what God spoke of to Moses. Exact mathematical measurements are in the realm of science, not superstition.  Our God is an architect, one who requires and uses exact measurements. He sees the world through science and mathematics, through reason and logic, and he wants us to do the same.  He wants us to walk in his ways–to understand how he thinks.

Exodus 25 GOD’S WORD® Translation:

11 Cover it with pure gold inside and out, and put a gold molding around it. 12 Cast four gold rings for it, and fasten them to its four feet, two rings on each side.

Note that what is used to store God’s word here is made partially of gold — durable, made to last. God wants us to store His Word in durable, well-designed containers.

More on the construction of the Ark of the Covenant, from GOD’S WORD® Translation Exodus 25, verses 13-28:

13 Make poles of acacia wood, and cover them with gold. 14 Put the poles through the rings on the sides of the ark in order to carry it. 15 The poles must stay in the rings of the ark. Never remove them. 16 Then you will put into the ark the words of my promise which I will give you.

17 “Make a throne of mercy to cover the ark out of pure gold 45 inches long and 27 inches wide.

18 Make two angels out of hammered gold for the two ends of the throne of mercy,

19 one on each end. Form the angels and the throne of mercy out of one piece of gold.

20 The angels should have their wings spread above the throne of mercy, overshadowing it. They should face each other, looking at the throne of mercy.

21 After you put into the ark the words of my promise which I will give you, place the throne of mercy on top.

22 I will be above the throne of mercy between the angels whenever I meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.

23 “Make a table of acacia wood 36 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 27 inches high.

24 Cover it with pure gold, and put a gold molding around it.

25 Make a rim three inches wide around it, and put a gold molding around the rim.

26 Make four gold rings for it, and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are.

27 The rings are to be close to the rim. They are to hold the poles for carrying the table.
28 Make the poles out of acacia wood, cover them with gold, and use them to carry the table.

Above, we see in Exodus 25, verses 9 through 28, that God gave man a detailed and precise set of instructions on how man should construct the ark of the covenant, using scientific measurements and specifying durable materials to ensure that the covenant– which was to be where the Word of God was stored and where God would live–would be durable and long-lasting. Thus, we see that in Exodus 25, we have a total of 31 verses where God showed man how to measure this physical world we live in order to create technology for a specific purpose.

God Showed Mankind How To Design and Build Structures Using Complex Blueprints

In 1 Chronicles 28 of the NET Bible we see how David commissions Solomon to build a temple using blueprints that God gave to David.

1 Chronicles 28 11-12 of the NET Bible reads as follows:

11 David gave to his son Solomon the blueprints for the temple porch, its buildings, its treasuries, its upper areas, its inner rooms, and the room for atonement. 12 He gave him the blueprints of all he envisioned for the courts of the Lord’s temple, all the surrounding rooms, the storehouses of God’s temple, and the storehouses for the holy items.

1 Chronicles 28 19 of the NET Bible shows us that David was guided by God with respect to the details of the blueprints to build the temple:

19 David said, “All of this I put in writing as the Lord directed me and gave me insight regarding the details of the blueprints.”

An alternate version of this verse from the New Living Translation version of 1 Chronicles 28 19 shows that God actually gave the plan/blueprints to David:

19 “Every part of this plan,” David told Solomon, “was given to me in writing from the hand of the LORD.”

Again the Bible shows us not a God of superstition, but God the architect and designer. God uses blueprints. He gave us blueprints–detailed plans built on logic and mathematics. 

So we see the God gave David the architectural plans, the detailed blueprints, and David then gave the plans to Solomon, and Solomon proceeded to build the temple.

The verses above from Ezekiel 40 6-49, Ezekiel 41 1-22 and Ezekiel 43 13-17, 45 2-5, 47 3-5, and 48 30-35 constitute yet another long Bible passage relating to mathematics and design.

Why is all this measuring included in the Bible? Why did God put this display of measurement in the Bible? One possible interpretation of this inclusion of measurements is that God wants us to see how important it is to measure and quantify the world around us. This sort of exact measurement is a fundamental basis of science and technology.  There are traditionally a number of themes associated with the book of Ezekiel, but Biblical experts and pastors and preachers rarely discuss the Biblical theme of measuring the natural world around us and how measurement plays such a vital role in human society. Measuring and quantifying the natural world around us, and then recording that information, that is a major component of how mankind rules nature. And God showed us how to do it–over 2000 years ago.

And here are two other examples of how God uses the Bible to talk about measuring the natural world around us:

From Revelation 21 15 of the GOD’S WORD® Translation we have an example of an angel with a measuring stick:

The angel who was talking to me had a gold measuring stick to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.

And from Revelation chapter 11 verse 1 of the GOD’S WORD® Translation, another use of a measuring stick:

Then I was given a stick like a measuring stick. I was told, “Stand up and measure the temple of God and the altar. Count those who worship there.

Compare these lengthy records of measurement versus the account of prayer in the bible–there are far more verses dedicated to measuring and counting and recording information and designing than there are verses dedicated to discussing prayer.

Yet modern Christianity is to a significant degree centered around prayer.  Your friendly neighborhood preacher will give sermon after sermon focusing on prayer and your relationship with God–and yet ignore the science in the bible, which is far more prevalent in the bible. This is a failure of Christianity–if we had focused more on science and technology instead prayer, perhaps we would have shown better progress in defeating death, which is God’s ultimate goal.

God Wants Us To Walk In His Ways, Which Means Not Just Obeying His Commandments, But Doing Things His Way, Thinking As God Thinks

From Psalm 119 3 of the World English Bible:

Yes, they do nothing wrong. They walk in his ways.

The ways of God are manifold. But when we think about the ways of God, we do not usually think of such things as design, logic, algorithms, science, written preservation of knowledge. Yet we have already seen that there are many dozens of Bible verses that show that God is a scientist, an engineer, a scientist, a designer, an architect, etc. Those are his ways. We should do as God did in the Bible–use logic and reason and the scientific method to live our lives the way God showed us in the Bible.

From Deuteronomy 26 17 of the New American Standard Bible:

“You have today declared the LORD to be your God, and that you would walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments and His ordinances, and listen to His voice.

This means more than just obey, but to do the things he does, and think the way he thinks.  God wants to defeat death. He wants us to defeat death for him. We must defeat death through our powers of reason and logic and science, the powers of powers of reason and logic and science that He gave us.

From Deuteronomy 11 22 of the King James Bible:

For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

Here we are being told not only to do his commandments, but also to walk in his ways–but what are his ways? To think rationally, to measure and describe this natural world, to use the tools of science and reason to shape the world to our desires–and to His desires.

From 1 Kings 2 1-3 of the World English Bible:

1 Now the days of David drew near that he should die; and he commanded Solomon his son, saying, 2 “I am going the way of all the earth. You be strong therefore, and show yourself a man; 3 and keep the instruction of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself.

From Deuteronomy 32 1-3 of the New Living Translation (this is Moses speaking God’s words):

1 “Listen, O heavens, and I will speak!

Hear, O earth, the words that I say!

2 Let my teaching fall on you like rain;

Deuteronomy 33 New Living Translation

3 Indeed, he loves his people;

all his holy ones are in his hands.

They follow in his steps

and accept his teaching.

So God is not only commanding us, but also teaching us, showing us how to think.

So here we see God telling us to not only obey and to do the things he commands us to do, but also to ‘walk in his ways.’ What does it mean to walk in someone’s ways? It means to to do the things they would do, to think like they think. What would God do in a certain situation? What would Jesus do in a certain situation? When God was faced with a problem, he used reason and logic and design and scientific knowledge to solve the problem (e.g., designing an ark to save humans and animals from the flood, or to stop human waste from spreading disease via germs; using measuring devices to create a well-designed structure, etc.).

Below, Jesus makes the distinction between the way man thinks and the way God thinks: from Mark 8 33 GOD’S WORD® Translation:

Jesus turned, looked at his disciples, and objected to what Peter said. Jesus said, “Get out of my way, Satan! You aren’t thinking the way God thinks but the way humans think.”

And from Matthew 16 23, GOD’S WORD® Translation:

But Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get out of my way, Satan! You are tempting me to sin. You aren’t thinking the way God thinks but the way humans think.”

There is a difference between the way God thinks and the way humans think. God thinks rationally, with science and mathematics; humans deal in superstition and not in logic.

God’s thoughts and deeds, and not just his commandments, should be an example to us.

But God does more than just think. He also acts.

From Revelation 15 3 of the GOD’S WORD® Translation:

and singing the song of God’s servant Moses and the song of the lamb. They sang, “The things you do are spectacular and amazing, Lord God Almighty…..

The things God does! What are the ‘things’ he does? Well, he showed mankind how to design, how to think logically, how to obtain, record and preserve information. These were indeed ‘spectacular and amazing’ things to do…

God Will Defeat Death via the Power of Man’s Science When Jesus Returns And The Dead Are Resurrected

Does the Bible talk about when all this is going to happen?  When will God defeat death via the power of man’s science?

1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 23 of the New Living Translation talks about the resurrection and the second coming of Christ, we read as follows:  

“But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised as the first of the harvest; then all who belong to Christ will be raised when he comes back…” (NLT)

So the dead will be resurrected when Christ returns to the Earth, when He comes back–the second coming. And it would seem reasonable that when the dead are revived, that is the beginning of the age of immortality for mankind.

1 Corinthians chapter 15 25-26 from the King James Bible says:

For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”

So we see here that after Christ (“he”) has returned to Earth, then death will be defeated, death being the last enemy to be defeated, the most difficult enemy to defeat.

So, it is in the future, probably the distant future, after the Resurrection and the Second Coming of Christ, that God will defeat death and make us immortal. And God will be using mankind’s science and reason as the tool to defeat death and give immortality to mankind–at least to those who deserve immortality.

After Resurrection, We Will Use Science To Create Our New Immortal Bodies

So how are we are going to be made immortal after being resurrected? Does the Bible address the method or the ways through we might be made immortal?

Philippians 3 21 of the New Living Translation tells us that:

“He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.” (NLT)

Remember, we are his mighty power that he will use to accomplish the good things he wants done. And God wants to defeat death. And we see here that our bodies will be made over, transformed. And the power to do so is mankind, and mankind’s mighty power is science and reason. So we will transform our bodies through science.

And from 1 Corinthians 15 50-54 of the Weymouth New testament:

“But this I tell you, brethren: our mortal bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, nor will what is perishable inherit what is imperishable. I tell you a truth hitherto kept secret: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the sounding of the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incapable of decay, and we shall be changed. For so it must be: this perishable nature must clothe itself with what is imperishable, and this mortality must clothe itself with immortality. But when this perishable nature has put on what is imperishable, and this mortality has put on immortality, then will the words of Scripture be fulfilled, “Death has been swallowed up in victory.””

So, the advanced science of the future will raise us from the dead and transform our bodies into indestructible (and imperishable) immortal bodies. And this will happen after the resurrection and the second coming of Christ.

Only Some Of The Resurrected Will Live Forever.

But what of Judgment Day, when the resurrected will be judged?

The question arises as to whether all of those who are resurrected will then go on to immortality, or will some or most of the resurrected go to death once again and not live forever?

If we look at Revelation 20 12-15 of the Weymouth New Testament, this is a passage that describes how the resurrected will be judged on Judgment Day:

“And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing in front of the throne. And books were opened; and so was another book—namely, the Book of Life; and the dead were judged by the things recorded in the books in accordance with what their conduct had been. Then the sea yielded up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades yielded up the dead who were in them, and each man was judged in accordance with what his conduct had been. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of fire; this is the Second Death—the Lake of fire. And if any one’s name was not found recorded in the Book of Life he was thrown into the Lake of fire.”

Anyone’s Whose Name Is Not Written In The Book Of Life Will Be Thrown Into The Lake Of Fire

So each resurrected person will be judged according to what they had done in life. Anyone whose name is not found written in the Book of Life will be thrown into the lake of fire. So if your name is written in the Book of Life, you can live forever. Otherwise, you go to the second death, even after being resurrected.

You Can Write Your Name In The Book Of Life By Helping To Raise The Dead

So how do you get your name written in the Book of Life? You get your name written in the Book of Life by doing what God wants you to do. What does God want us to do?

In Matthew 10 8 of the Weymouth New Testament, Jesus told his disciples to raise the dead:

“Cure the sick, raise the dead to life, cleanse lepers, drive out demons: you have received without payment, give without payment.”

Now, as good Christians we all give to charity, and part of that charity goes towards funding hospitals that are curing the sick, dealing with various illnesses, both mental and physical. In fact, as Americans a good portion of the sales and income taxes we pay already go towards helping others with their medical problems, with homelessness and so forth. And that sort of charity would seem to satisfy at least part of Matthew 10 8.  But what about the “raising the dead to life” part of Matthew 10 8? Are you helping to raise the dead back to life? Raising the dead would seem a likely path to getting one’s name in the Book of Life. If God wants us to defeat death for him, then raising the dead back to life would seem crucial to achieving that goal for God.

The Goal Of Brain Preservation Is To Raise The Dead

And indeed that is one of the purposes of the science of cryonics and other forms of brain preservation (such as aldehyde perfusion and brain plastination. When the cryonicists freeze (or cryopreserve) the brain for long term storage in dewars or cryostats, when they immerse the brain in liquid nitrogen for decades or centuries, they are doing so in order that advanced science in the future can resurrect these cryogenically preserved and bring them back to life. Likewise for aldehyde perfusion of the brain, as well as plastination of the brain. Those who are signed up for cryonics and plastination and aldehyde perfusion plan to have themselves resurrected and thereby obey Matthew 10 8 where Jesus told us to raise the dead to life. Brain preservationists, cryonicists, etc, are currently the only group of people on earth who are working to raise the dead, which is what Jesus told us to do in Matthew 10 8.

Brain preservationists/cryonicists hope to write their names in the Book of Life by preparing themselves for resurrection–helping to raise the dead–and thereby writing their names in the Book of Life. Indeed, the resurrection of the preserved brains may well be the first step in the resurrection as described in the Bible, and that resurrection may itself bring Jesus back to Earth again–the Second Coming.

When Jesus said “Raise The Dead,” He Was Talking To You and Me

However, the question arises as to whether Jesus was talking to you and me when he told the Apostles to raise the dead back to life.  To answer this, let us turn to Matthew 28 18-20 of the Weymouth New Testament:

“Jesus however came near and said to them, “All power in Heaven and over the earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations; baptize them into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; and teach them to obey every command which I have given you.”

We know that Jesus told his disciples to raise the dead in Matthew 10 8, and then later, here in Matthew 28 18-20, we see that Jesus told those same disciples (the Apostles) that they were to go and make new disciples, and that these new disciples were then to obey all the commands that Jesus had already given the Apostles. And just what commands had Jesus given the Apostles? For one, he gave them the command of raising the dead. So if you are a disciple of Christ, then he wants you to raise the dead. No mistake about that.

As further evidence that Jesus wants each of us to help raise the dead back to life, let’s take a look at John 14 12 (King James Bible), where Jesus is speaking to his followers:

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

We know that Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, and here in John 14 12, he told his followers to do the same works he had done, and that he also expects even greater works from you and me. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. That was one of his works. And here Jesus is telling his believers that they need to do the same works he has done. I am a believer in Christ. So I am helping to raise the dead. That is why I signed up for cryonics. That is what Christ told me to do. The only people on Earth engaged in raising the dead are the cryonicists and other brain preservationists. That is one reason why I am a signed up cryonicist.

So raising the dead is something that a good Christian should be doing. Or at least helping to raise the dead. And that is one of the primary purposes of brain preservation. By working together to ensure healthy, functional brain preservation organizations, brain preservationists are helping to raise the dead whose brains have been preserved. Although that resurrection of these “Resurrectables” stored in liquid nitrogen or aldehyde or plastinated will no doubt not take place for many decades, if not centuries, brain preservationists are indeed working to carry out Jesus’s command to raise the dead back to life.

Mankind Can Raise The Dead Though Science

The question then arises as to whether it is possible for us to raise the dead back to life.  Luke 1 37 (King James Bible) addresses this question:

“For with God nothing shall be impossible.”  

Also, in Mark 10 27 (King James Bible), we are told that:

“…Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”

And in Matthew 19 26 (King James Bible), it tells us that:

“…Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

So, yes, with God’s help, we can raise the dead, although it may seem impossible at this time. He gave us the tools to raise the dead—our powers of reason and logic and science. And he wants us to raise the dead. He commanded us to raise the dead.

So, to summarize what we have read so far, some people will not live forever after the resurrection — they will go into the lake of fire on Judgment Day because they had not written their names in the Book Of Life — and it is our deeds, what we do, that are the keys to whether we live on forever after resurrection, whether we make it past Judgment Day. Brain preservationists believe that by helping to raise the dead, they will write their names in the Book Of Life. After all, defeating death is God’s ultimate goal, and if we brain preservationists can raise the dead stored in liquid nitrogen, aldehyde or plastinated (the Resurrectables), then we are helping God defeat death.

Those Who Are Resurrected First Receive The Better Resurrection And Will Live Forever On Earth

But what else might we need to do in order to please God and receive immortality after the resurrection?

The Bible does speak of differences in those who are resurrected. Some will receive a better resurrection and be resurrected first. Hebrews 11 35 of the New International Version Bible reads as follows:

“Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection.”

An even better resurrection!  So, being resurrected would be good, in and of itself, but of course any of us would want a better resurrection.

Revelation 20 6 of the Weymouth New Testament describes the first resurrection:

“Blessed and holy are those who share in the First Resurrection. The Second Death has no power over them, but they shall be priests to God and to Christ, and shall be kings with Christ for the thousand years.”

The Second Death is the Lake of Fire. So, being resurrected first is something to be desired, certainly.  You get to reign beside Jesus for 1000 years, and you do not need to worry about the Lake Of Fire.  You are then assured of immortality on Earth.

We Need to Have Christ Inside of Us At Resurrection In Order to Be Resurrected First and Receive the Better Resurrection

But how then can we achieve that first resurrection–that better resurrection–and thus ensure immortality? What sort of deeds should we do if we want the better resurrection and immortality?

1 Thessalonians 4 16 from the King James Bible describes a certain characteristic shared by those who are resurrected first, presumably those would receive the better resurrection:  

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first…”

So the “dead in Christ” get to be among the first resurrected, that being the better resurrection. What does being “dead in Christ” even mean? What does it mean to be dead and at the same time to be “in Christ”? How can we be anywhere if we are dead?

Furthermore, along these same lines, Romans 8 10 of the World English Bible tells us that

“If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.”

So, we need to have Christ inside of us while we are dead in order to be righteous?  In order to live forever, we need to have Christ in us even while we are dead. How can we do that?

From 1 Thessalonians 4 14 of the King James Bible, we see that:

“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”

From the context of 1 Thessalonians 4 14 (see 1 Thessalonians 4 16, for example), it is clear that being asleep here means to be dead, and that the reference to God bringing with him those who sleep in Jesus means that those who are dead and who are also “in Christ” or “in Jesus” will receive the better resurrection, the first resurrection.

However, what it means to be “in Christ” while you are dead is still unclear.  Romans 6 8 of the King James Bible refers to the same condition:

“Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him”

We can see that in order to be resurrected first and to receive the better resurrection, we want to be “dead with Christ”, or to be “dead in Christ” or “sleep in Jesus.”  But what is the precise definition of this state?

Christ is The Word

To answer this question, let’s see what the bible says about the nature of Jesus.  What is Christ?

From John 1 14, World English Bible:

“The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

This verse  is referring to Jesus. So the Bible is telling us that Jesus is The Word who became flesh and walked among us. This is what the Bible tells us about the nature of Jesus. Jesus is himself the Word, the Word of God.

Revelation 19 13 of the King James Bible says this:

“…he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.”

Referring again to Jesus—his name is the Word of God.

John 1 1 from the King James Bible says: 

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

So God is also The Word.   

Wherever the Word is, there also is God

Exodus 25 New Living Translation deals with the tabernacle and ark of the covenant where the Hebrews stored the Ten Commandments, which were the word of God:

1 The LORD said to Moses.…[this is God talking to Moses here]

8 “Have the people of Israel build me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them. 9You must build this Tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the pattern I will show you.

…

16 When the Ark is finished, place inside it the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you.

The stone tablets stored inside the ark of the covenant contained the ten commandments, the Word of God…the ark was a sanctuary where the word was stored, and wherever The Word is stored, that is where God is. God is The Word.   God lives where The Word is stored.  When you read the Bible, which is also the Word of God, and you store those verses in your brain as memory, you are storing the Word of God inside you, and so God also lives in you through those stored words.  Your brain is a holy sanctuary for the Word of God, which is God inside of you.  As long as the word of life is stored inside your brain, you can have eternal life.

The Ark of The Covenant Contained The Word of God

2 Chronicles 5 New Living Translation reads as follows:

7 Then the priests carried the Ark of the LORD’s Covenant into the inner sanctuary of the Temple—the Most Holy Place—and placed it beneath the wings of the cherubim. 10 Nothing was in the Ark except the two stone tablets that Moses had placed in it at Mount Sinai….

EXODUS 40 GOD’S WORD® Translation tells us as follows:

1 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Set up the tent (the tent of meeting) on the first day of the first month of the year. 3 Place the ark containing the words of my promise inside it, and hang the canopy over the ark.

…

19 He spread the outer tent over the inner tent and put the cover on top. Moses followed the LORD’s instructions. 20 He took the words of God’s promise and put them in the ark.

See also 1 Kings 8  New Living Translation–here the ark of the covenant was being brought to the Temple:

6 Then the priests carried the Ark of the LORD’s Covenant into the inner sanctuary of the Temple—the Most Holy Place—and placed it beneath the wings of the cherubim. 7 The cherubim spread their wings over the Ark, forming a canopy over the Ark and its carrying poles. 8 These poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the Temple’s main room—the Holy Place—but not from the outside. They are still there to this day. 9 Nothing was in the Ark except the two stone tablets that Moses had placed in it at Mount Sinai, where the LORD made a covenant with the people of Israel when they left the land of Egypt.

10 When the priests came out of the Holy Place, a thick cloud filled the Temple of the LORD. 11 The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the LORD filled the Temple.

12 Then Solomon prayed, “O LORD, you have said that you would live in a thick cloud of darkness. 13 Now I have built a glorious Temple for you, a place where you can live forever!”

These verses establish that the ark is where the Word of God and God himself lived.  Wherever God lives is where the Word of God is present, and vice versa.

God lives in us through the word of God stored in our memories in our brains.

2 Corinthians 6:16 NET Bible tells us that:

And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said, “I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

In order for God to live in us, the Word must be present in us, For God is The Word. We store the Word of God inside us by reading the Bible.  Our memories of the verses from the Bible are God inside of us.

Exodus 25 New Living Translation reads as follows:

16 When the Ark is finished, place inside it the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you.

…

21 Place inside the Ark the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you.

Deuteronomy 10 New Living Translation says:

1 “At that time the LORD said to me, ‘Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones. Also make a wooden Ark—a sacred chest to store them in. Come up to me on the mountain, 2and I will write on the tablets the same words that were on the ones you smashed. Then place the tablets in the Ark.’

3 “So I made an Ark of acacia wood and cut two stone tablets like the first two. Then I went up the mountain with the tablets in my hand. 4 Once again the LORD wrote the Ten Commandments on the tablets and gave them to me. They were the same words the LORD had spoken to you from the heart of the fire on the day you were assembled at the foot of the mountain. 5 Then I turned and came down the mountain and placed the tablets in the Ark of the Covenant, which I had made, just as the LORD commanded me. And the tablets are still there in the Ark.”

The Bible Is Also The Word Of God

And what is the Word of God? The Word of God is the Holy Bible. But how can God and Jesus be the Bible? When the Bible says that The Word became flesh and dwelled among us, what does that mean? Was Jesus a walking book? Did he have pages and a book cover?

The Word is Writing, and Writing is Information

No, The Word of God which is the Bible consists of writing. And what is writing?  Writing is information. Pure information. Information that can be transferred from one form to another and to yet another form, and so on and so forth down through time.

All these centuries, the Word of God has been transferred from one book to another, from one Bible to another, an endless series of copies…all transferring the same basic information down through the centuries…and thus preserving the Word of God for us today…even though the original Bible has long since been destroyed by time and decay.

God And Jesus Are Both Information

The Word is writing, and writing is information, and so therefore, Jesus and God are also information. And information can live forever, if it is guarded, watched over, and protected against loss. As long as information can be transferred to a new format, a new container, that information is immortal, just as Christ and God are immortal. Just as God wants you to be immortal.

So if God and Jesus are The Word, which is writing, and if writing is information, then what are we as humans?

Genesis 1 27 of the King James Bible tells us that …

“God created man in his own image…”

Humans Are Also Information

So, if God is information, then it follows that we humans are also information because he made us in his image.  Are we simply information? Is our soul information?  Each of us has his or her life history stored inside the brain–a message that has a very special meaning. All our memories, our lives and our loves, our moods, our likes and dislikes, all this information is stored up there in our brain, right alongside the Word of God.

To Live Forever We Must Keep The Word (Which Is God) Inside Us Forever

If The Word, the Bible, is both God and Jesus, then what does the Bible tell us to do with the Word of God?

John 15 7 of the World English Bible tells us that:

“If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.”

This is a quote from Jesus (who is The Word), and he is saying that if the Word of God (his words from the Holy Bible) remain in us, then that means that we will be in him, just as he is in us. And that will mean that we can have whatever we want, even eternal life. But how does this condition address the question of having Christ in us while we are dead so that we may receive the better resurrection and not have to worry about the second death?

Luke 8 15 of New International Version:
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

We Must Maintain The Word Inside Us Even While Dead

The universe itself is held together by the word, as shown by Hebrews 1:3 New International Version:

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

All things are sustained by The Word of God. All things. We are part of the universe, and as long as we have the word in us, we can live forever. We can also be sustained by the Word of God.

So, we need to hold on to the Word of God tightly. But do we need to do that even while we are dead?

Revelation chapter 2 25-26 of the Bible in Basic English says that:

“But what you have, keep safe till I come. He who overcomes, and keeps my works to the end, to him I will give rule over the nations…”

Looking at that same verse from the World English Bible, it says that we need to

“…hold that which you have firmly until I come. He who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations.”

This is Jesus speaking to us via John.  So, we need to keep (in the sense of “hold on to”) the works of Jesus (the Word of God) until “the end,” or in other words, until Jesus comes back again, and if we do hold on to the Word of God until the Second Coming, then we will be resurrected first, and thus receive the better resurrection, and rule beside him for 1000 years, and thus have no need to fear the second death.

And the original Greek of that verse above shows us that the word “keeps” here means to “watch over” or “to guard”, from the original Greek word “teros,” which means “guard.”  The exact translation of this verse Revelation 2-26 from the original Greek used the word  tērōn –meaning “keep intact” (see here: http://biblehub.com/text/revelation/2-26.htm ). So when Revelation 2-26 tells us that those who keep His Word “intact” till “the end” are those who will be given authority over the nations (those who will receive the better resurrection and rule beside Christ for 1000 years). The “end” here, from the original Greek, is based on the word telous –which means “end-stage.” The end-stage refers of course to the second coming of Christ, at which time we get the first resurrection (the resurrection of those who will be given authority over the nations, and will rule beside Him, and who will not need to fear the lake of fire–the second death–on Judgment Day). Those who will live forever on earth will be those who keep His Word intact inside their brains until the second coming of Christ. 

So Jesus wants us to guard or watch over his works (the Word of God) until the end, until the second coming and the resurrection, when he comes again.  But is it even possible to keep the Word of God inside us until the second coming? More on that later….

And what are his works? The Bible…the Word of God…the information in the Bible which is stored inside each of us as part of our memories….the Word of God stored inside us is Christ, who is The Word made flesh who walked among us. Our memories of his teachings are the God inside of us.

John 14 24 of the World English Bible tells us that

“He who doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words.”

Again, the word “keep” here means to watch over or guard, from the original word Greek word “tērei”, which is from the original biblical text in Greek. The exact translation of tērei is “keep intact.” See http://biblehub.com/text/john/14-24.htm .  So if you love God and Christ, then you must keep His Word intact. Forever. Keep it intact in your brain. You have him inside you via the Bible verses you have stored in your memories. Those verses–the Word of God– that are stored in the memories in your brain is how God lives inside you. You are a sacred temple carrying God, the word of God, inside. Just as the Ark of the Covenant carried the stone tablets that were the Word of God. 

But what does keeping his word safe inside of you until the resurrection do for you? 1 John 3 24 from The Bible In Basic English says

“He who keeps his laws is in God and God is in him.”

The original text from John 3 24 shows us that the word “keeps” here refers to tērōn –which means “keeping intact,” from the original Biblical translation of  John 3 24. See the Greek translation on http://biblehub.com/text/1_john/3-24.htm .

If you keep his laws intact inside you, in your memories, stored in your brain, God will be in you, and you can live forever.  If you have the Word of God inside you, he–the Lord Jesus–will be in you.  Another version of this same verse, from the American Standard Version Bible says that

“…he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him.”

The word “keep” as used here means guard or watch over, from the Greek word téreó: to watch over, to guard, which was the original Biblical text.

So if you guard the Word of God inside you, which is stored in your memories of the Bible verses, and keep that Word intact, even while dead, Jesus will abide in you and you will abide in him.  John chapter 8 verse 51 (World English Bible) says:

“if a person keeps my word, he will never see death…”

If you go to the website biblehub.com for John chapter 8 verse 51, and click on “Greek” near the top, you will see the original Greek translation of this verse. It reads as follows: “I say to you, if anyone my word keeps, death never not shall he see, to the age.” The word “keeps” here is based on the Greek word tērēsē — which is shown on the left hand side of that page (see http://biblehub.com/text/john/8-51.htm ). If you place your mouse over the word tērēsē, you will see the words “tērēsē: keeps in-tact.” So, the original translation of John 8 51 tells us to keep God’s word intact. Not just follow his word. But to keep his word intact. All in one piece. Together. Preserve it. Watch over it. Guard it. Never let his Word be destroyed. That word is stored in your brain. Keep it intact. For all time.

 So the Bible is telling us that if we guard or watch over The Word that is stored inside us we can live forever. If we keep his Word intact.

And that we need to guard The Word inside us even while dead, and keep it inside us until the resurrection, the Second Coming, when Jesus returns to us. If God’s Word is intact inside us when Jesus returns, we can live forever. That Word consists of the memories of the Bible verses stored in your brain. Keep your brain intact forever, and you can live forever. Because God lives therein via His Word.

Christ lives in us via the word of God

Galatians 2 20 Berean Study Bible:

I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

Christ is the word made flesh, and he lives inside of us via the word stored inside of our brains. The Word of God, which you have obtained from reading and hearing bible verses, is stored in your memories in your brain. Christ is inside of you as long as the memories of the Bible verses you have read and heard remain intact and stored in your brain. Christ is The Word made flesh. The Bible is also the Word of God. You have memorized Bible verses, and those verses are stored in your brain. Those verses are God stored inside, the living God stored in your brain. You are a holy temple because you carry bible verses–the Word of God–stored in your brain. Christ lives in you through those bible verses in your memories.  Never ever let those verses be destroyed–even after your death. Preserve them forever, for they are the key to eternal life right here on Earth.

By Freezing Our Brains Via Cryonics We Keep The Word (Jesus) Inside Us Until The Resurrection, Thus Ensuring The Better Resurrection And Immortality

To have Jesus inside you is to have immortality:

1 John 5 11-12 NET Bible

11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.

Do you have him? Do you possess him inside you? If you do not possess the Son of God inside you, then you do not have eternal life. You possess him inside you through your memories of the bible verses stored in your brain. The Son of God is the Word that became flesh and walked among us. Do you have the Word of God inside you? Is the Word of God stored in your brain, in your memories? Do you know a bible verse? Just one? If so, then you have the Word of God stored in your brain. And you are therefore a sacred place, temple unto God. You have God living inside you through that one bible verse in your memories. Never let it go. Keep it intact. And you can live forever right here on Earth–by being resurrected via science.

If we want to be in Christ while we are dead, then Christ (The Word) must be in us as well.  If he abides in us, then we will abide in him and will live forever. He is of course The Word, The Word of God is God inside of us. To be ‘dead in Christ’ or to ‘sleep in Christ’ therefore means to store and guard the word inside you even while you are dead. This is a primary purpose of cryonics–to store the Word of God (which is God and Jesus) inside of us until the Second Coming and the Resurrection. Doing this will assure us of the better resurrection, the first resurrection, and thus also ensure us of eternal life.

Let’s see what else the Bible has to say about long-term storage of the Word of God inside of us.  In Revelation 3 11 (from the NET Bible), we hear Jesus say the following:

“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have so that no one can take away your crown.”

Here, we have Jesus telling his followers that he will be coming back to Earth soon, and that we need to hold on to what we have until then. But just what is it that we have that is so important? We have the Word of God inside of us.

But what is the crown referred to here in Revelation 3 11?

In Revelation 2:10 (American Standard Version Bible), it says that

“Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer: behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.”

So, we can have eternal life, the crown of life, but we need to hold onto the Word of God inside of us, even unto death. We have been told to guard it, to watch over it, even in death. By having the Word of God stored inside of us while dead, and guarding it there until Jesus comes again, and we are resurrected, we are thus “dead with Christ,” and are thus assured of being the first resurrected.

The Bible refers to keeping The Word inside of us a great many times. Here is yet another example of that command:

Deuteronomy 11 18 (Bible in Basic English):

“So keep these words deep in your heart and in your soul, and have them fixed on your hand for a sign and marked on your brow.”

2 Timothy 1 14 (World English Bible) tells us that:

“That good thing which was committed to you, guard through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.”

This ‘good thing’ is the Word of God.

1 John 2 24 (World English Bible) reads as follows:

“Therefore, as for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father.”

The American Standard Version of 1 John 2 24 offers a slightly different wording:

“As for you, let that abide in you which ye heard from the beginning. If that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father.”

1 John 2 24 in International Standard Version Bible uses a more modern wording:

“What you have heard from the beginning must abide in you. If what you have heard from the beginning abides in you, you will also abide in the Son and in the Father. “

So here we see another example of how Jesus is telling us that by having the Word of God inside of us, he will remain (abide) in us, and we will remain (abide) in him–even while we are dead. It must remain there for all time. Recall that in order to be the first resurrected, you must be dead in Christ, and in order to be in Him, He must also be in you. Who is He that must be inside you while you are dead? He is the Word of Life.

Philippians 2:16 New Living Translation:

16 Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.

1 John 1 New Living Translation:

1We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,a whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. 2This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life.

you must have the word of god stored inside you in order to be resurrected first and be assured of immortality.

Romans 8 9 (New International Version) reads as follows:

You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.

Those who belong to Christ when he returns to earth will be raised from the dead first, thus receiving the better resurrection, and thus not having to fear the second death, thus being guaranteed eternal life.. .You have to have Christ inside you–Christ is the Word of God that became flesh and walked among us–The Word must be stored inside your brain. You must possess The Word at the time of resurrection, then–and only then–you will belong to Christ.

Being Buried Or Cremated Destroys The Word Stored In Your Brain

However, those Christians who die and go to the grave or are cremated will not be guarding the precious Word of God inside them until the Second Coming. The Word of God inside them will have been long lost to the decay of the grave by the time Christ returns.

Currently, at this point in time, mankind is nowhere near being able to resurrect the dead through science. It will certainly take many decades, and maybe even centuries before we are able to raise the dead for God. And by that time the dead who go to the grave will have lost the information stored inside their brain, and the Word of God and their own personal memories will have been destroyed due to decay, and all information that was stored in their brains will have been dissipated, lost to the ground, to worms, to tree roots and insects that burrow into their brains and destroy the information stored therein. Not only will the decay of the grave steal the Word of God, but it will also cause the loss of personal memories and other information that make us a unique person. Our soul, in other words. The Word of God and our personal memories are going to be necessary and crucial for a proper resurrection, the better resurrection.

The Decay of the Grave Cannot Inherit Immortality

Corinthians 15 50 (Berean Literal Bible ) addresses the issue of whether we can live forever if we decay in the grave after death:

50 Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood is not able to inherit the kingdom of God, nor does decay inherit immortality.

Jesus did not decay, and he was resurrected from the dead. Avoid decay to inherit immortality. Avoid the grave. Keep the information in your brain safe from decay.  Decay cannot inherit immortality. And decay is what awaits you in the grave.

1 Corinthians 15 35 – 37 of the NET Bible addresses the information that will form the core of our new resurrection bodies once we are revived from cryostasis:

“But someone will say, ‘How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?’ Fool! What you sow will not come to life unless it dies. And what you sow is not the body that is to be, but a bare seed – perhaps of wheat or something else.”

But what exactly is that “something else” that is the seed of our immortal post-resurrection bodies?  Luke 8 11 (King James Bible) specifies the nature of that seed:

“…The seed is the word of God.”

The Word of God is the seed around which your new resurrection body is formed. Preserve that seed and you can live forever.

The Word Inside Your Brain Is Crucial To Immortality, And Stopping The Decay of the Grave is Necessary For Immortality

The Word of God is the seed corn of our future resurrection body, that precious information, that is the seed corn, along with all our unique personal memories, which makes us who we are. But in order to reap the better resurrection, the first resurrection, the Word of God must be stored inside of us and guarded from decay until He comes again–unitl the second coming of Christ. We must protect The Word of God stored inside our brains against the decay of the grave. We must guard The Word (and our memories) against the decay of the grave.

Indeed, the Bible shows us that the very act of stopping decay of the grave, becoming imperishable, is–in and of itself–Godly.  

From Romans 1 23 (Weymouth New Testament):

“instead of worshipping the imperishable God, they worshipped images resembling perishable man or resembling birds or beasts or reptiles.…”

To be imperishable is Godly. To perish and decay after death is ungodly, satanic. If we are becoming more like God, we must achieve a state of non-decay after death–we must become imperishable.

From Romans 8 21 (World English Bible), we see that:

“creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.”

Breaking the chains of decay after death should be a primary goal for all Christians.

Cryonics Stops The Decay of the Grave So That We Might Die Like Jesus, Without Decay

That is what the life extension movement, transhumanism and cryonics are all about–ending our bondage to decay, ending our slavery to death, defeating death for God and ensuring immortality on earth for mankind, or at least for those who have preserved and guarded the Word of God even after death–thus preserving God’s vital information until the second coming and the resurrection. By baptizing ourselves in liquid nitrogen at death for cryopreservation, we avoid decay.

The Bible tells us about how Jesus fought against the decay of death. Acts 2 27 (World English Bible) tells us that

“because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.”

The Holy One here is Jesus.  Acts 2 31 (World English Bible) explains how Jesus fought against decay and thus was able to be resurrected:

“he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was his soul left in Hades, nor did his flesh see decay.”

We cryonicists want to die like Jesus–without decaying, and thus preserving our memories inside us for all time, including the Word of God that is the Bible verses stored in our memories. The Bible says that Jesus did not decay and that Jesus is associated with being imperishable–while man decays, and is perishable.

God Wants Us To Avoid The Decay Of The Grave

As further evidence of how God is commanding us to avoid the decay of the grave, let’s look at Acts 13 35 (World English Bible):  

“Therefore he says also in another psalm, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.’”

Another version of this same verse, Acts 13, verse 35, from the New Living Translation bible, says:

“You will not allow your Holy One to rot in the grave.” (NLT)

As for more evidence regarding the resurrection of Jesus and how he did not undergo decay, see Acts 13 37 (World English Bible):

“But he whom God raised up saw no decay.”

And from Psalm 16 10 (New American Standard Bible):

“For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.”

So, it is now clear to us that avoid the decay of death is something God wants us to do.

Cryonics Preserves The Word Inside Our Brains By Stopping the Decay Of Death

A primary purpose of cryonics is to defeat death through avoiding decay, as did Jesus, thus avoiding the loss of information from our brain. That precious information includes the Word of God, which the Bible tells us that we must guard at all costs, even unto death.

Our Brains Are Holy Places Where God Lives In Us Via Our Memories of Bible Verses

God lives in us through the stored word inside of us–the bible verses we have read and memorized–just as the Ark of the Covenant was a holy place wherein lived God via The Word, so too are our brains holy places wherein the Word of God is stored. The bible verses we have read and heard are stored in our brains, where the Word of God is kept, that is where God lives.

Philippians 3 10-11 (NET Bible) tells us that the the disciples of Christ also sought to emulate Jesus, to die like Jesus, and thus be resurrected like Jesus:  

“My aim is to know him, to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings, and to be like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.”

Cryonicists see cryopreservation and baptism in liquid nitrogen at death, followed by long-term storage in liquid nitrogen as the path to avoiding the decay of death, and thus preserving vital information–our personal memories, along with the Word of God, which will become the seed corn of our new resurrection body, as the pathway to immortality on earth. We cryonicists seek to be like Jesus in his death. He did not decay, and he was resurrected. We, like him, avoid decay, in order to achieve the better resurrection, the first resurrection.

Your Soul Is Pure Information

The spirit, your soul, is information, pure information, information that can be transferred from one form to another, from one body to another, for all time, down through the centuries, thus allowing immortality. Just as the Word of God is information, and can be transferred and copied down the centuries from one book to another, from one form to another, from one language to another, likewise, our personal memories, our soul, can also be copied and transferred for time everlasting, as long as the Word of God and our memories are guarded and watched over. God hates the loss of information, for it is He who created all information. Guard his information inside you for all time.

1 Corinthians 15 54 (International Standard Version) depicts the future that we immortalists, transhumanists, and cryonicists want to reach:

“Now, when what is decaying is clothed with what cannot decay, and what is dying is clothed with what cannot die, then the written word will be fulfilled: ‘Death has been swallowed up by victory!’”

The body without the spirit is dead

James 2:26 King James Bible

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

The spirit is information, the information contained in our brains, which includes the word of god. .Therefore, if we are resurrected at the second coming, we are only alive if our brain contains that special information, our soul, along with the word of god inside of it.

Information–spirit/soul–is immortality

To be immortal you must realize that our fleshly and sinful bodies are not what we really are…what we really are is information…which is the spirit –the word, aka god–as it is called in the bible…preserving your soul means preserving information in your brain after death, which requires science.

Realize that only the informational aspect of you–the spirit, your soul– will be resurrected to immortality–if there is no information left, or only very little, there will be no immortality.

Romans 8:9 New International Version

You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.

The spirit of Christ is the word, and the word must be inside you, stored in your brain in order to belong to Christ.

Romans 8 World English Bible says the following:

10  If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

But the resurrection of the dead will probably occur a long time in the future…if you are buried, the word that is the spirit which is stored in your memories, will have been long lost.

Romans 8 16-New International Version:

For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.

Both His information and our information are necessary to become the immortal children of Cod.

Romans 8 18 – 19 (New International Version) reads as follows:

18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. 19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.

His children will be those with the spirit stored inside them–God is the word is the spirit–that future day is the first resurrection.  When those who have the spirit–God–stored inside them.

Romans 8 20 – 23, New Living Translation reads as follows:

20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.

Cryonicists beat death by staving off decay after death. Our new bodies are those that will be provided us through science upon resurrection.

Just as Jesus was resurrected by the spirit, information stored inside his brain, so too will the Resurrectables be resurrected by the spirit.

1 Peter 3 18 International Standard Version:

For the Messiah also suffered for sins once for all, an innocent person for the guilty, so that he could bring you to God. He was put to death in a mortal body but was brought to life by the Spirit….

But Jesus was seen in a body after his resurrection.  How so? God is the spirit, and so christ is the spirit. The spirit is the Word of God, and the word is writing, and writing is information.  Christ did not decay, so the information in his brain was preserved, and information is the spirit.  We cryonicists seek to preserve the information in our own brains, including our personal memories along with the word of god so that we also may be resurrected by the spirit (via stored information).

God is spirit, which is information

2 Corinthians 3 17 (American Standard Version) reads as follows:

Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

And 2 Corinthians 3 18 (American Standard Version) reads as follows:

But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.

John 4 24 (World English Bible) tells us that:

God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

God is spirit, and God is also The Word.  Therefore The Word is spirit.  And the Word of God (the Bible) is also writing, which is information, and so therefore the spirit is information.  We cryonicists worship in spirit by working to preserve the spirit (information) inside us until the Second Coming and the Resurrection.

In order to become immortal, we must focus on preserving the information inside our brains

Romans 8 5 – 6 (World English Bible) says as follows:

5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;

The Spirit is Information, information which can be transferred from one form to another, free of the flesh.  If you think that you are bound to a single body, you will die…

1 Corinthians 15 42 – 44 (Berean Literal Bible) shows us that:

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in decay; it is raised in immortality. 43 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual.

Being raised a spiritual body means that your resurrection body will be built around your spirit, which is the information stored in your brain and preserved through death–if you prevent the decay of the grave from destroying the information in your brain.  Our natural bodies include our brain, which stores the information that makes us a unique person. That unique information is our soul, which if preserved until the Resurrection and the second coming, will be transferred to an indestructible body and allow us to live forever. But the natural body  helps create that unique information. From the time we come out of the womb at birth, we are building our spirit, which is the information stored in our brains. Our natural body is a container that protects our spirit/information. Mankind is moving towards a time when the natural body will give way, and the spirit will be protected inside a indestructible body, one that cannot decay, one that will give us immortality.

1 Corinthians 15 46 (Berean Literal Bible) reads as follows:

46 However, the spiritual was not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. ….

1 Corinthians 15 50 (Berean Literal Bible) says:

50 Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood is not able to inherit the kingdom of God, nor does decay inherit immortality.

Thus we must avoid decay in order to inherit  immortality. The spirit, which is information, and which is your soul, will be able to live forever.

1 Corinthians 15 51 (Berean Literal Bible) tells us as follows:

51 Behold, I tell to you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For it behooves this, the perishable to put on the imperishable; and this, the mortal to put on immortality. 54 Now when this the perishable shall have put on the imperishable, and this, the mortal, shall have put on immortality, then the word having been written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

So the key to immortality is to avoid perishing. When we go into the grave or into the crematorium we accept perishing, we accept death. This is the way of Satan.

God wants us to fight back against Death

Referring to the quote from 1 Corinthians 15 55 below: this is an apostle daring to speak up, to fight back against death, saying, bring it, death, show me what ya got, death, give me your best shot, death, we are gonna beat you, death.  Why can’t Americans today be like this apostle? Taunting death!

1 Corinthians 15 55 (Berean Literal Bible) says:

55 “Where O death, is your victory?
Where O death is your sting?”
56 Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law. 57 But thanks be to God, the One giving us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Information dies when it no longer has a physical container to hold it.

Information dies when it no longer has a container to hold it. When your brain has rotten, the information that is God’s Word is lost to you, along with all your personal memories that make you a unique person.  That is your soul, your spirit. You cannot live again if you lose your soul.

God is spirit, and we are becoming spirit like God

2 Corinthians 3, 17-18 (New Living Translation) reads as follows:

17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

We are becoming godlike–immortal–via the word carried inside of us– in our memories.  The longer we carry him–the word, the spirit–inside of us, the more godlike we become..  God is The Word, and the word is writing, and writing is information, and so we are becoming information like God.  When we are resurrected, if we are among the first resurrected, those who receive the better resurrection, we will have our souls, our spirits, the information that is us, transferred to an immortal body. That immortal and indestructible body will contain our spirit.  Essentially then we will consist only of our true essence–spirit, information, which can move easily from one physical container to another–just like God.

Satan is Death, destruction, nothingness, the void.

Hebrews 2 14 (Berean Study Bible) reads as follows:

Therefore, since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity, so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death, that is, the devil…

Satan is death. So we should not accept death, but instead defeat death for God, instead of accepting death as Hollywood tells us to do.

Satan is defeated by the word stored inside you

1 John 2:14 (International Standard Version) reads as follows:

I have written to you, little children, because you have known the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because you have known the one who has existed from the beginning. I have written to you, young people, because you are strong and because God’s word remains in you and you have overcome the evil one.

An alternate version from GOD’S WORD® Translation of 1 John 2:14 reads as follows:

I’ve written to you, children, because you know the Father. I’ve written to you, fathers, because you know Christ, who has existed from the beginning. I’ve written to you, young people, because you are strong and God’s word lives in you. You have won the victory over the evil one.

The evil one here is Satan, who is death. The way to beat Satan and death is to keep the Word of God inside you. If you rot in the grave, you cannot do that.

Science Stops The Decay Of Death and Will Give Us Immortality By Preserving Our Personal Information

So when the science of the future ensures that we will be freed from our bondage to decay, freed from the slavery of death, and our bodies will not be subject to the decrepitude of old age, then mankind will be immortal through the power of advanced future science, then we will have defeated death for God.  Remember that God prepared us to do all good things for him. We are his tool. And science is our tool.

Cryonics Is Shunned By The Mainstream, But The Bible Predicted that This would  Happen

Cryonicists and other life extensionists are often mocked in the media, and are seen by many as cranks or as deluded. Cryonics is often denigrated by the establishment. But the Bible tells us that those who faithfully follow the teachings of the Bible will be hated.  1 John 3 13 (World English Bible) says:

“Don’t be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.”

And from Matthew 10 22 (World English Bible):

“You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.”

And Matthew 10 36 (King James Bible) tells us that:

“A man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”

If you decide to freeze your brain at death, and keep the Word of God safe inside you until the Second Coming, then you may be an object of ridicule. But don’t worry about it.

Isaiah 51 7-8 (New International Version) tells us:

“Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have taken my instruction to heart: Do not fear the reproach of mere mortals or be terrified by their insults.”

That’s right. Those who reject cryonics and life extension are indeed mere mortals. They will go to the decay of the grave without guarding the Word of God inside them. But if we follow the guidelines set out for us in the Bible, we can live forever. But if we do so, we will have to learn to have a thick skin and bear up to the insults cast at us by mainstream society.

Currently, there are around 2000 people signed up for cryonics. Not very many, considering the population of America, which is over 300 million.

However, the Bible tells us that few will chose the path God has set before us. See for example Luke 13 24 (World English Bible):

“Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.”

Certainly cryonics and life extension is the narrow door. So very few Americans will choose cryonics and radical life extension. Almost all Americans go the grave or are cremated, thus losing their personal memories and the Word of God stored inside them, losing that information for all time.

As Matthew 22 14 (King James Bible) tells us:

“Many are called, but few are chosen.”

Indeed. The Bible calls us to eternal life, to immortality, but so few of us are willing to do what it takes to grab onto that chance for immortality.

Matthew 7 13 (American Standard Version) says:

Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby.

Indeed. The vast majority of mankind will not chose to help raise the dead. And the vast majority will go to the grave and fail to guard the Word inside them until the second coming. That is the choice they make–they choose the wide gate–and they will pay for that choice on Judgment Day. They will be resurrected, but they will not receive the better resurrection, the first resurrection, and without having guarded the Word inside them while dead, they will face the lake of fire and the second death. God told them via the Bible to raise the dead and to store the word inside them even while dead, until the Second Coming. But they disregarded his instructions.

God Gives You A Chance At Immortality, But You Have To Work For It

Romans 2 7 (NET Bible) says:

eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality,

So, eternal life to those who seek immortality, those who seek immortality through their own good deeds.  You can be immortal, but God helps those who help themselves. You have to grab onto that chance!

God didn’t make you so that your essence –your memories and the Word of God stored inside you– could be destroyed by the decay of the grave. God made you to fight for eternal life, and to work for eternal life. God didn’t send his only begotten son down here to die on the cross so that your memories and The Word stored inside you could be destroyed forever by the grave. He designed you to fight for immortality.

God wants you to seek after immortality and to be pro-active about it. God wants you to guard the precious Word inside you, for it is the seed corn of your resurrection body.

One obstacle to obtaining immortality via freezing your head might be the expense. There are currently two cryonics companies. With the use of life insurance, the cost of the more expensive of the two cryonics companies might be somewhere in the range of 100 to 200 dollars a month for life insurance premium payment and cryonics membership organizational dues. The less expensive cryonics company would cost less, perhaps 30 dollars to 100 dollars month.  If that is too expensive, you might explore the possibility of starting your own cryonics company, together with like-minded Christians in your area.

The important thing to realize is that if you want to live forever, the Bible is telling us that we need to take action to obtain immortality. Deeds are what matter in God’s eyes–raising the dead, healing the sick, preserving the Word of God inside you forever.  This takes work. It is not enough to simply pray. It is not enough to just have a relationship with God. You need to do more than just pray and go to church.

Galatians 6 7 (American Standard Version) reads as follows:

“…whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

If we want to reap immortality, we must first sow immortality. You are not going to sow immortality by just praying and going to church.

You can sow immortality by doing what God wants us to do–give to charity to help the poor and the sick, and also help to raise the dead back to life. You can raise the dead by putting yourself in position to become one of the Resurrectables, a cryonicist, one of those who will be baptized in liquid nitrogen at death, dying like Jesus — without decay — and thus being resurrected like Jesus–without decay, and thus keeping and not losing the precious Word of God stored inside you, along with your own personal memories. You reap immortality by being among the first resurrected, among those who receive the better resurrection.

The Bible gives us a choice–we can chose immortality by helping to raise the dead and preserving the Word of God inside us forever. Or we can chose the grave, the wide gate, the wide path, the path that leads to the destruction of the grave.

And what awaits those who go to the grave? See Job 7 9 (New International Version):

“As a cloud vanishes and is gone, so one who goes down to the grave does not return.”

That is the choice for all of us–do we go to the grave or do we go to the liquid nitrogen, for long-term storage in the cryostat or the dewar of the cryonics organizations?

Our Souls Are Information, But the Decay Of The Grave Can Destroy Your Soul By Destroying the Information In Your Brain.

But those who go to the grave, although they may be resurrected, will not receive the better resurrection and will not have their names written in the Book of Life. Thus, they face the second death and the lake of fire on Judgment Day.  What does the Bible mean by “the Lake of Fire” and the “second death” that will await the resurrected that have not written their names in the Book of Life? No human can truly know the mind of God, but this is likely an metaphor for the situation where the decay of the grave has caused loss of vital information, the information that makes each of us who we are.  Once that vital information is lost, there is no chance of true resurrection. What will those resurrected from the grave be like? Zombies, perhaps?

This leads us to the question of whether the Bible commands us to preserve the Word of God inside us until the second coming because God knows that if we preserve The Word inside us while dead, then we must also necessarily preserve our memories and the other information in our brains that make us a unique person. Perhaps this task of preserving The Word while dead is simply a way for God to get us to preserve our personal memories.

The preservation of those memories would be necessary for resurrection. Hence, the name Resurrectables for those who are baptized at death in liquid nitrogen, and stored long-term in cryostats and dewars, thus staving off the decay of the grave and preserving memories.

The cryostats of the Cryonics Institute and the dewars of Alcor are akin to the Ark of the Covenant–they are well-constructed, durable vessels meant to preserve information–the ark of the covenant–yes, the same one from the movie Indiana Jones–was designed to preserve the information of the Word of God, whereas the dewars and cryostats used by cryonics organizations are designed to preserve the information stored inside the brains of cryonicists. Those stored and frozen brains also contain The Word of God, The Word of God from the bible verses stored in the memories of the frozen cryonicist brains.

Your brain is a holy place where God lives in you–your brain stores the Word of God, which is God himself.

God designed a sturdy and durable ark of the covenant so that His Word might be preserved.  Likewise, you must guard over The Word stored inside you–even after death.  That is why the cryonics companies Alcor and Cryonics Institute store patients inside sturdy, well designed cryostats and dewars.

Perhaps God spoke to us through the Bible in a way that the people of historical times could understand. The people of centuries past did not understand the brain or how memories are stored. They did not understand information theory. They had no science in those days. So God spoke to them in a way they might understand. They could understand the command to save the Word inside them even while dead. That is a simple command. Hard to carry out that command, but at least understandable.

The Earth After The Second Coming Will Be Made A Paradise Through Science

To those who help raise the dead and preserve the Word inside them until the second coming, God promises a life without death and without tears. But what does that mean?

Is our life so sad these days? Yes, we all live with the prospect of death, but aside from the issue of death, could our lives be better? How will the advanced science of distant future make our everyday lives better?  

Hebrews 6 5 (King James Bible) speaks about the post-resurrection heaven on earth:

“And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come…”

The powers of the world to come! What wonders will science and God bring to us? It would not seem unrealistic to imagine that after the resurrection, we Resurrectables, we immortals who are God’s Children will inhabit a veritable Paradise on Earth, a technological Garden of Eden, all our needs and wants and desires satisfied by the science of the future.

We shall want for nothing, and we shall fear nothing, for with God on our side and with us wielding reason and logic and science as a tool, nothing is beyond us. We will surely travel the universe, given an immortal lifespan.

All we could possibly want or need shall be provided for us through science. That is what the Bible is telling us awaits us in the distant future, once science knows all and can do all. No need to work or fear death, either.

Drug use, terrorism, crime, etc other pathological behaviors are due to our hopelessness over the problem of death….There is no viable solution to the problem of death…Most cannot believe in heaven, because the bible does not offer heaven as a solution to the problem of death…But science is the solution, a solution shown us by the bible.

We can devote ourselves to learning, to traveling through countless galaxies, time itself our servant, the universe our plaything.

We are on a path to immortality, a path made possible by science, a path ordained by god…All our scientific and technological endeavors are godly and holy…Wherever and whenever science and technology are being improved/developed?, god is there, working in us to help us on our path to immortality.

When they split the atom, god was in that…He was there.

When the astronauts landed on the moon, god was there…He was pleased…

Every time a new cancer protocol is developed, god’s in it….

Every time a new life-saving drug is invented, god’s in it…He is there….

When a new particle is found by physicists, god is there….

When the first self-driving car was invented…God was there…And he was pleased that we were walking in his ways…

Accepting death is sin

God’s ultimate plan is to beat death, and he has prepared us to do every good deed….so therefore accepting death is sin….and working for immortality is righteousness.
